Manfred Heckmann(Berlin)
Mailart
Indian ink drawings on envelopes with special stamps; Manfred Heckmann turns these into small stories. Childlike fairytale innocence is sprinkled with black humour as mythical creatures meet up with merry animals and lonely tipplers. Frankenstein stamps on a Buddha figure, Ernst Jünger rides a dinosaur. And omnipresent in the background is the spectre of E.T.A. Hoffmann.

MANFRED HECKMANN
